A Lifelike Story

WOW Im Sorry Guys :/

Hey yall.  Im really sorry we haven't been on here in such a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.  We've been crazy busy and haven't been able to get online as much as we would like to.  I apologize for that.

Im currently sitting in a hotel room in New Hampshire preparing for our show tomorrow.  We had a great couple of shows and nights in CT.   We played a few Hot Topic stores in the mall which turned out awesome.  We got there and did some major promotion.  We were talking to every person we passed and yelling to the lower level to get them to come to the store.  Surprisingly enough that actually worked;  I guess yelling to people from across the mall gets them to shows, i dunno.  I may have to try that more often, ha ha.  Thanks again to everyone that came out.

We've been demoing for a new album in between tour and writing.  We currently have eight brand new songs written and we're still going strong.  Hopefully we'll be able to finish the eight songs and then keep writing some more.  This summer is going to be pretty awesome from what I hear.

Well I have to go but I'll talk to you all later.  Don't be afraid to stop in our site (www.alifelikestory.com) and leave us some love.

Goodnight

Practice Surgery??

 Hey all,

So its been a loooooooooooong time since we've updated this so i thought maybe it would be a nice thing to do.  So I've been back home for a while which is always good to relax.  We're going to be pretty busy the next few months.  I spent all of last night and part of tonight renovating part of a building that we are now going to be using as our new practice space.  We are moving out of the basement and into our own suite.   Its pretty cool cause the room we're moving into is an old surgery room.  Its kinda weird but we've been working on it and so far it looks pretty sick.  We should be moving all of our gear in this coming weekend.  I can't wait to see the finished project and I can't wait to see the upcoming months.

Come by our myspace and talk to me.  I love connecting with all of our fans.  Talk and we'll talk back.  Peace.

BACK HOME... Maybe a little too soon

 Hey all,

So as you all know we have been on the Never Say Ever Tour 2009 with our good friends Shut Up and Deal.  Unfortunately, there were a few major setbacks that (in the end) made us return home earlier than expected.  Shut Up and Deal's van caught fire the second day into the tour which made them have to drop off the tour.  We were pretty bummed about this although we had to continue with the tour as scheduled.  The next couple of days were going pretty well.  We got to meet a lot of awesome people and see a few places that we've never been to before.  I think Vermont is always an awesome place to go visit.  If you haven't been there I would suggest going and checking it out.  We made a lot of new contacts along the way although no one was really prepared for what was to come.

On our way to Richmond, VA we got into a major accident which in the end totaled our trailer and caused major damage to our van.  No one was injured at all during the accident, thank god.  We were on the side of the road for about and hour and a half with the state police as well as the two tow truck.  We had the van and trailer towed to a nearby lot where it remained until morning.  Luckily my parents along with Garrett's father drove down that night in order to help us get ourselves and our equipment back to NJ.  As they were on their way down we checked into a Holiday Inn which was only a few blocks from the tow lot; we remained there until our parents arrived around 8:30 AM.  We then loaded all of our equipment into Mr. Hoffman's trailer and all the luggage into my family's van.    After all of this took place there were a lot of phone calls made trying to straighten everything out.  Around 11:00 AM we got back on the road to come back to NJ.  At the same time this was taking place we were able to have the van towed back to NJ so that it would be here the next morning.

We are all now back in NJ safe and sound with the van.  We will be holding back on playing shows for a few until this mess is figured out.  Once we have most of this taken care of we will be able to start playing shows around the area as well as start preparing for a new tour.  In the meantime we will be concentrating on writing new material, as well as a few different types of fundraisers in order to help with our newly incurred costs.

I will talk to all of you very soon, hopefully with better news.  I hope everyone is having a great week.

AHHH!! LIGHT BOXES!!!

 HEYO!

Light boxes are done! This is SUPER! We've been working really hard on them (that's what she said), and so therefore they look mad wonderful. We're not sure when we're gonna actually incorporate them yet, seeing as I have to get used to the new footswitch.

I have a new cabinet now. I'm gonna start using an Ampeg 6x10 instead of the regular Hartke 4x10 with a 1x15 underneath it. It's smaller, however it's definitely worth it I'd say.

Oh man, I was really excited to post a new entry, however now I'm not, so we're through here.

I don't know football...

 Hey everyone,

So its Superbowl Sunday and I have no idea whats going on...ha ha...  I've been watching off and on and I just don't get it.... although I must say I do enjoy all of the food that is around.  We have some pretty good stuff at our house.  I think we might bring out the chili soon.  That should be pretty good...yum...

So i guess since that clothing malfunction during the Superbowl a few years ago they're not gonna let MTV do the half time show anymore.  I mean it may be a good thing considering they brought out some strange combinations but they were entertaining to say the least.  Im not really sure how I feel about having one person do the whole show; I mean depending on who it is it could be entertaining.  I think they should change it up a little.  Like maybe have one year where someone performs that is geared toward adults and maybe another year that is geared toward teenagers.  I dunno maybe thats just me... ha ha :)

Oh.... so we got some very fun stuff today for the band.  You're all going to be able to see it very soon in the near future...Im pretty excited... maybe some fire and sparks and pretty intense stage flames.... or not, that may be a little dangerous...ha ha

Anyway I think Im gonna go get some more food now....ha ha... I'll talk to you all later... Love you all.

HIYA!!! Bummed in the city + new bass layout!!

I'm STILL HURTING (thanks Bryan) from yesterday's escapades.

So we decided yesterday that we would go into the city and meet with a potential Publicist. YAY!

First off, we hit traffic. TRAFFIC SUCKS. Then, we proceeded to get into the city, where we had 40 minutes to go like 20 blocks! ON FOOT!!!!

So we're like beyond power walking, we're going really fast, I'm cramping up because it's cold as HELL, and i'm whining and all.

We get there, and then we get to the suite, and open the door. IT'S LOCKED.

To make a long story short, we didn't meet with them because the Security guard messed up.

Sooooooooooooo we walked around the city, that was fun. And chilly.

TODAY! I went and got my bass back :) I had it setup, but it needed some definite work. Glad they kept it under $30 though, I'm mad broke!

I switched the pickguard on it, so now it has a tortise shell pickguard! HAHA! it's soooooo badass.

And that's my day, kids.

A Little Note From Your Friend Bryan

 Hey!!!!!

What's going on everyone?

So I was trying to find something to do and realized that we haven't been on here for a while so I decided to stop in and say hey.  Im not gonna lie its been so cold lately and Im not a big fan.  Alright now that I've got my complaining out of the way I can actually give you a great blog...haha...

Im pretty excited actually.  I know that we (as a band) made a rule that we weren't really gonna put our updates on here just a way to talk about random things but Im pretty excited about what happened today so Im gonna write about it...haha.  So we are in the process of re-vamping a team of specialists behind us and everything is in the works but things are looking really good.

I can't wait to get back out on stage.  We've been out for a while now considering our whole drummer situation and Im starting to go crazy.   Like I know we are still doing things and being productive but it doesn't really compare to the feeling that you get when your under the lights.  Alright we'll I guess Im complaining again....oops :)

I wanna talk to you all.  Lets share some stories cause Im sure someone out there has to have something fun :)

Anyway I will talk to you all later.  Peace out cub scout :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

 Heeeeey everyone,

First off.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Who's been partying all night?  So Garrett and I were thinking about running naked through Times Square tonight but decided it might not be a good idea considering it was like 1 degree outside.....ha ha....

So I haven't really posted anything in here since we started this so I decided to fill you all in on what's been going on with me.  So the past week has been pretty exciting and relaxing.   Garrett and I set up a movie theater in my bedroom so instead of watching movies on my TV, we can all watch them on my wall.  Its pretty sweet i must say.  Christmas was pretty fantabulous if I do say so myself!!!  Food, Cookies, Cake, so much good stuff....oooo yum.  How about your holiday?  Hm?

Although being off has been pretty good, I can't wait to get back out there and meet so many more new people.  Anyway I'm kinda rambling so I'm gonna go and watch the ball drop :)

I'll talk to you all very soon.  :)

"Anyways, I totally shaved a skunk the other night."

I probably shouldn't be up right now, since I have to get up in like 5 hours anyway to drive my dad to work, then do errands myself. Oh well.

I've spent the night drumming. Yeah, go figure, the bassist is also a drummer, right? There's your little known fact about me for the night- I'm a decent drummer. You should actually hear me. I'm pretty good. In fact I'll just give you a list right now of my favorite drum tracks to drum to at the moment:
1. "Re-education (Through Labor)" - Rise Against
2. "Take It Away" - The Used
3. "Check Yes Juliet" - We The Kings
4. "My Favorite Accident" - Motion City Soundtrack
5. "Born For This (Live in Chicago Version)" - Paramore

I have about 50 total, and I try and run through at least 10 or 15 a day. It's always fun building up my chops for that and all, and it's a good thing to do in the winter when I'm not doing anything over break. My set isn't really top notch, but whatever. It gets the job done, and that's what matters!

Anyways, I totally shaved a skunk the other night. NO JOKE. I was driving from Bryan's house to my lover Kelsey's house, and I saw what I thought was a pile of snow. Until the snow moved, and I'm all "HOLY SHIT!" Luckily I just went over the top of it, so I just gave it a mild concussion at the most lol. It shall live to stink up another day. To the skunk: I'm deeply sorry; you should get yourself one of those bright orange hunter jackets. Or better yet, I'll purchase one for you. It's the least I can do.

Well it's pretty late, and I best be signing off.

DUDE I'M SO BEAT.

I'm really super tired! And I just got home from practice. Spray-painted some stuff, Rehearsed some stuff, same ol' same ol'. Taylor got me a shirt! AHH!! Another Skelanimals shirt, which I'm now infatuated with. It's stellar.

Anyways, I'm watching Family Guy on my Mac, and I'm also commenting people on myspace, so if you're online send the band's page a comment and we can discuss life and everything in it :).

I'm gonna go rest my head a little bit, I have a lot to do tomorrow!

First Post Ever YAY

Hey Everyone,

So here is our first post ever... Who is excited about that?  I sure know I am.  We've been trying to think of ways to keep in contact with our fans and let them know whats going on so we figured what better way than live journal.  We're going to be using this journal in order to keep you up to date on what is going on with A Lifelike Story as well as share some crazy stories from the road.  If you wanna know what is going on with each of us individually you can go to each of our personal myspace pages and check out our Twitter posts (Bryan's: www.myspace.com/bryanrw, Tay's: www.myspace.com/purrr0009, Garrett's: www.myspace.com/conformitylacking) .

Here is a quick update:

We are still in need of a drummer as well as a permanent merch person.  If you are interested in filling either one of those spots please go to our myspace at www.myspace.com/alifelikestory and please read our latest blog for all of the details.

So now that we got all that out of the way.

We hope you all have a fantabulous holiday season.  We can't wait to hear exciting or funny stories about what happens with season.

We'll talk to you all very soon :)
